The project will improve the presentation of the Sognefjord as a tourist destination on the web. It consists of a portal linking to the web sites of the local companies of the tourism sector.

The aim is to support the improvement of these sites such that the totality of sites gives a complete and attractive picture of the region. They should complement each others, hang together through a linking and employ some common design elements. The picture should emphasize the properties measured by the criteria used by the National Geographic to evaluate tourism destinations. It is also an aim to make the portal visible on the web, i.e. that it appears among the first hits in the most important search engines in searches made with relevant search words.

User testing and interviews with tourists, questionnaires on the and expert evaluations will be conducted and the results used to improve the site. Among the elements tested are in particular the use of maps as a vehicle for information
