Drivers of and rebound effect embedded in stationary and mobile private energy use
The aim of this project is to investigate the stationary and mobile energy use of Norway for the last 20 years; that is the composition of energy use, the sum figures of the split between direct and indirect energy use, the drivers of energy use and the rebound effects embedded in policies aimed at reducing stationary and mobile energy use. These insights will be used to produce different scenarios for future energy use taking into account an overall aim to reduce accompanied GHG emissions by 50% within 2050. A user group of representatives from NVE and Miljødirektoratet will be included in the scenario-making part of the project.
The project will begin by studying the following subsystems:
Mobile energy use of freight transportation within and through Norway
Stationary energy from Norwegian households. Further studies will be finalized during the project period.
