Torbjørn Selseng has a master of science in Climate Change Management from Western Norway University of Applied Sciences. He is currently working on his PhD in sustainable adaptation.

The PhD project «Closing the monitoring gap on local climate change adaptation. A new framework for a holistic approach to performing and monitoring adaptation» presents a new terminology for municipal adaptation. The work on sustainable adaptation is often hindered in municipalities where different disciplines with different understandings of the problems and solutions are works separately, often without considering each other and other development goals. The goal of the PhD is to get municipal employees with different backgrounds to better understand each other and how their tasks relate to the overall municipal development strategy.

Torbjørn is interested in the interactions between democracy, economic, social, and ecological development at different scales, and prefers quantitative methods.
