What do we know and what do we not know about climate risk? In the first work package of the project, we have summarized experiences internationally on how to analyze and describe climate risk. The review shows the need to develop better methods in four areas: (1) Integrate quantitative and qualitative data, (2) co-produce knowledge by cooperation between external experts and local actors, (3) integrate knowledge about how societal change can affect exposure to the negative effects of climate change, and (4) describe possible local consequences of climate change taking place in other countries and develop proposals for how different levels of governance can address this type of cross-border climate risk.
