Testing the use of natural hazard damage data from insurance companies in local planning

This is a pilot project which will clarify the possibilities and conditions of a main project - or a permanent arrangement - with the publication of damage data from the insurance industry. The overall objective is to clarify the potential and conditions to strengthen the prevention of costs due to climate-related natural hazards by testing the usefulness of access to insurance claims statistics. The project will deal with the challenges associated with both the current climate and expectations of future climate change. The project includes an evaluation of a number of pilot municipalities in the use of personnel injury.
