ICT Based Health-care: Research and Development Challenges

The technological, sociological, cultural and legal issues surrounding ICT enabled healthcare are still boundless and are waiting to be resolved, while its ripening trends show tremendous promise and productivity for the future. In this presentation we discuss the important issues related to the deployment of ICT based healthcare. We point out the characteristics of healthcare problems and we make a case that intelligent ICT systems are a good choice to tackle problems with such features. The paper also argue different concerns that have to be covered before intelligent ICT systems can be effectively deployed in real healthcare settings.
