Climate Risk Assessment Sogn
The project will develop and demonstrate howto analyse climate risk in a municipality ba sed on the established national system for ranking municipalities by physical clima te risk. The project will include three types of climate risk:
Local physical climate risk: Loca1consequences forna ture and society of loca1climate change.
Transboundary clima te risk: Local consequences of clima te change in other countries.
Transition risk: Local consequences of changes in policy and technology that relate to the issue of reducing green house gas em issions and/or capturing and storing carbon.
The municipalities that are part of Sognrådet (Vik, Sogndal, Aurland, Lærdal, Årdal and Luster) will be offered practical ass istance from Vestlandsforsking to conduct a climate risk analysis limited to the types of climate risk that the municipalities find relevant. It is crucial that the analysis work is linked to relevant local govemance and planningprocesses.
