Vestlandsforsking 25 years!

Vestlandsforsking celebrates its 25 years anniversary these days. We use this opportunity also to launch our new web site.

Vestlandsforsking was established as a research foundation on the 13th of March 1985 by the Sogn og Fjordane County Government. The research activities were closely connected to the local region at first. During the 25 years of activity the research activities have taken on both national and international dimensions.

Vestlandsforsking is now firmly established as national provider of research competence in climate and environment, and in ICT themes as regional development, eGovernment and semantic technologies.

Our 25 years anniversary will be highlighted through a series of seminars connected to our main research areas throughout the year. We will also host an anniversary blog where we will invite different persons with a connection to Vestlandsforsking, to write. The minister of Local Government and Regional Development, Liv Signe Navarsete, starts the blog relay today. She was chairman of Vestlandsforsking's board from 1999 to 2005.
