Tina is a senior researcher in the Technology and Society research group at Vestlandsforsking and received her PhD in 2025 in computer science with specialization in computer science education at Uppsala University. In her thesis: “Advancing Social Justice in Code Club Education: Exploring Participation, Pedagogy, and Computer Science Capital”, she explored how children’s participation in computing is shaped by social and cultural resources, and how an understanding of these factors can contribute to developing pedagogical and organizational methods that promote social justice and challenge structural inequalities. She has also developed the Computer Science Capital (CSC) framework to help teachers create a more inclusive computer science learning environment. Tina’s research lies at the intersection of computer science education, educational sociology, and social justice.

Tina has a passion for research that promotes social justice and inclusion in education. She is particularly interested in the role of technology in people’s lives and how young people use new technologies – such as AI – in their daily learning. Her research also focuses on how teachers can create learning environments that are welcoming, critical and empowering. Whether in the classroom, informal learning environments or policy contexts, Tina is driven by the belief that education should be critically engaging and encourage social responsibility, cultural humility and a conscious approach to power and justice.

Tina holds a Master’s degree in Information and Communication Technology for Development (2015) and a Bachelor’s degree in Digital Communication and Multimedia (2013), both from Stockholm University. In her free time, she enjoys climbing, walking in the forest with her dog and finding fun things to do with her family.
