Eli Heiberg holds a master in Nature conservation from the Agricultural University of Norway (1978). She worked as assistant professor at the Sogn og Fjordane University College from 1989 until she joined WNRI in 2008.
At the University College she is responsible for courses within land- use planning and nature conservation. Eli Heiberg has also worked with environmental management and was employed for 10 years by the County Governor of Sogn and Fjordane.
Major fields of work are municipal land use planning and environmental policy. Important projects deal with climate change adaptation in municipalities and climate vulnerability assessments. Prominent funders are a.o. the Norwegian Research Council programme NORADAPT.
