"Quality assurance system to secure the Sognefjords position as a travel destination of world class", KSR Sognefjord (QA Sognefjord), was a "SkatteFUNN" project aiming to secure the travel destination Sognefjords world class position. The project should see to it that the Sognefjord keeps and develops its high quality as a travel destination. Together with representatives from the the Hotel association of Sogn (Hotellgruppa i Sogn), a quality assurance system, a set of actions and measures, and a toolbox should be made for the travel industry in Sogn. Representatives from the Hotel association brought their knowledge about the market, needs and opprtunities, while the Western Norway Research Institute contributed with research.

One of the measures in the project – Knowing the Sognefjord – was also been supported by Sogn regionråd.

The Sognefjord map that was made as part of the project is available under a free and open license for reuse and remixing.
