Principle objective: To develop scientific competence at high international level within the field of the precautionary principle and its application in biotechnology.

Sub goals: To develop a framework for new governance of biotechnology on the basis of the precautionary principle To operationalise application of the precautionary principle in particular within the base-areas recombinant DNA fish-vaccines and biotechnology of transgenic plants To provide input about the precautionary principle in biotechnology to those advisory bodies in Norway that deal with science communication in relation to biotechnology
