4th WIMS conference took place in Thessaloniki, Greece.

4th International Conference on Web Intelligence, Mining and Semantics (WIMS’14) took place on June 2nd – 4th at Thessaloniki, Greece. The WIMS conference series was initiated by the Vestlandsforsking, as a part of the celebration of its 25th anniversary in 2011.

The 2nd international conference in this series was organized at the University of Craiova, Romania, and the 3rd conference (WIMS’13) – at Autonomous University of Madrid, Spain. This conference series is intended to stimulate discussions on the forefront of research concerned with intelligent approaches to transform the World Wide Web into a global reasoning and semantics-driven computing machine. This year’s conference brought together approximately 75 attendees representing 16 nations.

27 full papers, 13 short papers, 1 discussion paper and 1 tutorial were presented at the conference. This conference also featured 3 distinguished keynote addresses, delivered by Richard Benjamins (Telefonica), Jem Rayfield (Financial Times), and Athena Vakali (Aristotle University), in 3 plenary sessions. There were 2 workshops comprising of 17 contributed papers.  Like earlier WIMS conferences, WIMS’14 proceedings are published in ACM Digital Library.

Next year’s WIMS’15 will be held on June 22nd – 24th, 2015 in Larnaca, Cyprus.
