The regional innovation system and business networks are important contributors to innovation and change in businesses and organisations. It is important to have good working relationships between managers, union representatives and employees in order to be able to utilize the entire knowledge base within a company. Close collaboration between businesses, the public sector, and educational and R&D organisations is also important to ensure that the regional innovation system is functioning.
Vestlandsforsking participates in several such initiatives, aiming at innovation and development of networks within organisations, and between organisations, the public sector and businesses.
Examples of these are projects such as: research-based brokering, Value Creation 2010 (Verdiskaping VS2010), broadband development in Sogn og Fjordane and other work relating to IT Forum Sogn og Fjordane.
