The project will, through international knowledge review, historical case, ongoing development case and a close dialogue with user groups, develop new knowledge about the conditions for integrating the goal of sustainable tourism in different sectoral policy areas such as agriculture, transport, energy and conservation.

A key tool in the project is the establishment of a meeting place between various administrative, economic sectors and research modeled on the previous architectural ring in the direction of Sogn og Fjordane county. The knowledge from project should increase local value added in tourism as these are expressed in the government's national tourism strategy, the forthcoming regional tourism strategy for Vestlandet and the tourism plan for Sogn og Fjordane.
