The Ministry of Local Government and Regional Development (KRD) has engaged Vestlandsforsking to improve the accessibility og data from local organising. From 1996 the research institution NIBR has collected data from local organising, data about the organising of the municipalities, each 4th year. A new data collection is planned late 2003.

Data about local organising forms are now only available through an Access database which can be downloaded. The Ministry wants to make the data available for a broader audience and transfer the data and the presentation of the data to Internet. As a possible step two, ontologies will be build around the key terms used to describe the data. Based on the ontologies advanced and assisted searches will be presented for the users.
