Sustainable urban tourism in the city of Stavanger

The city of Stavanger municipality has commissioned an assessment of the environmental implications of cruise and air travel to Stavanger and opportunities for developing tourism to become in line with current national and international climate goals. The study will relatgt to the following climate goals: That Norway should reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by 30% by 2020, with 1990 as base year, become carbon neutral by 2030, and reduce emissions by 40% by 2040, on the path towards a low-emission to be  reached in 2050.  The study will be included in the knowledge basis for updating the current climate and environmental plan for the city, which will apply for the period 2017-2030.
