Guttorm Flatabø has a bachelor in African studies and a master in Science and Technology Studies (STS) from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). His work background is equally varied first with technical and practical experience from a wireless Internet Service Provider (ISP) startup, then as managing director of a regional tourist board in the fjord area of Norway. At the Western Norway Research Institute Guttorm has mostly been working with information technology applied to tourism. Most recently he looked at the use of social media in rural tourism in Sogn og Fjordane county.
